PLEASURE/PRINCIPLE
A NEW SOLO PROJECT
Pleasure/Principle explores the potential for experiencing and communicating utopian visions of post-capitalist desire, joy and pleasure.
In 2023 I was extremely lucky to be selected for DIS-TANZ-SOLO, to support me for 6 months while I developed my practice and researched this project.
Our sources of pleasure and desire are often coerced, conditioned and manufactured, or stolen, repackaged and sold back to us. Meanwhile, worldwide we are experiencing Earth systems collapse from the way that the global rich extract and use resources to provide for the way of life we demand.
This is a project exploring what ownership we have over what makes us happy, and the revolutionary potential of pleasure, desire, radical happiness and collective joy.
