Music

Music has always been a huge part of Madeline Shann's work, she began gigging as a voice and guitar singer-songwriter under her own name in 2006, and then played as voice/piano cabaret act Be Still My Heart 2009-2017 and has written three albums. She is currently working on a new alternative pop album.

She writes and often performs original music for theatre, from Isley Lynn’s reimagining of Lysistrata in 2009, to All of Me and All of Me (Without You) collaboration with Seth Honnor in 2011, to writing music and lyrics for Sharp Teeth’s John Gay adaptation Polly the Heartbreak Opera (2018-ongoing) alongside main composer Ben Osborn.

She makes original music for her own shows, including festive solo musical The Christmas Live Survival Guide (2014), ensemble dance theatre piece Sex In Real Life (2017), and political multimedia show Here’s Looking At UKIP (2018).
