Beginning the year the way we meant to go on, the Dust team wasted no time, going back into rehearsals on the 2nd of January to practice juggling lemons, whipping tea towels and delivering dialogue while dancing. The commitment paid off, as we shared at the Cockpit London’s fantastic Theatre in the Pound scratch night, Ariana and Elisa performed brilliantly and the piece was warmly received. We got some very interesting feedback about the characters, the way the narrative unfolded and the impact of the text and movement interplay, and gave us a lot to think about in terms of future development of the show. The other acts were great, we particularly enjoyed Claudia Palazzo and Holly Blakey's clever and beautiful dance theatre duet "On a Diet of Tinned Mackerel". However our highlight of the evening - and possibly my life - had to be feeling starstruck when we spotted Miriam Margolyes in the audience, only for her to be the first to offer feedback, announcing simply “I thought it was very erotic”(!)
